“antirosistas”. In those times the dictator governed protecting the interests of Buenos Aires’s families in decline of interests of other states. By the way, this conflict between Buenos Aires and the others states were not resolve in this generation and the followings. Fratricide wars had place in my country for this opposite views to organize the country.

Also, Rosas postponed every intent to organize the Nation through a constitution because those times were never the right time until his defeat in the battle of Caseros during 1852 by the general Justo José de Urquiza who called all the governors to make the Argentina National Constitution. Therefore Benigno must to fight against the “antirosistas” forces, called Unitarian Forces. In one of those battles he must fight against his own brother, Pío, who was fighting with Unitarian forces. Later Benigno, fallowing the Villanueva family’ expectations, united the Unitarians and fight under the orders of General Paz. But Paz started to be in disagreement with the Unitarian and must live the country together with his officials. They traveled to Río de Janeiro where Benigno met Mexican officials who were looking for courageous war men to fight against the North Americans since United Sates invaded Texas territory. With other Argentineans, Benigno in 1846 traveled to Mexico to fight under General and Mexican President Santa Ana orders . Santa Ana’s campaign was not success, but his personality influenced profoundly Benigno’ life.

Continuing with my ancestors, after bloody battles he decided to move to California where James Marshall had discovered the gold in March of 1848. Through the use of guns on the caw boy style, he obtained a considerable fortune searching and selling gold and gambling. In those times he received the visit of his brother, Pío and helped his Unitarian soldier brother.

The noun Federals and Unitarian were used for many years in my country. Both forces faith several times confronted each other in the field of battles. Rosistas called themselves federals and the people against Rosas called themselves Unitarians. This fact about Benigno’ life shows a very interesting aspect of the Argentine culture, there is passion when a person embraces a cause, but union based in familiar blood is always strongest.

Then Benigno traveled to Spain, where by friends he met Catalán General Juan Prim who also had been fighting in Mexico against North Americans. General Prim received and accepted the proposition to lead Spanish forces to fight together with England, French and Turkish against Russian in the Crimea Peninsula and named Benigno as his assistant.
